Description
The Voltage Controlled Oscillator is an oscillator whose frequency is proportional to the input voltage and is found in many different circuit designs. This kit can be used in a wide range of applications ranging from 1V octave synthesises to data encoders which can convert an analogue voltage (such as those found in sensors) into a digital square wave whose frequency corresponds to the sensor reading. The VCO is centred around the LM358 and does not use any specialised chips to produce the square and triangular waveforms which means you can learn the fundamentals of how oscillators work!
